THE CRUX OF IT: We are distracted from our greater potential to our greater detriment.
What would this world be like if we could possibly dispose of capitalism and religion?
What if we could all devote our time, not to what we are required to do, but to what we aspire to do?
How much could we accomplish if all of the energies we fruitlessly expend could be redirected toward betterment; either of ourselves or the greater populace?
What if wars and terrorism were obsolete because religion became antiquated and undesirable and put aside as if it were a childish affectation?
What might be created with that much energy?
DO NOT mistake these questions as simple-minded altruism.
The point that we wastefully spend so much of our time toiling for what is unrewarding and fleeting is valid and beyond question.
We are distracted from our greater potential to our greater detriment.
Spend a little time now pondering what the world would be like if our energies were expended differently…
Imagine there’s no heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today…
Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace…
You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world…
You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will live as one
