THE CRUX OF IT: Religion is too often an enormous lie.

 

The clip above was intended to be a very current example of the hypocrisy of false faith and the self serving basis that worship can take.

 

Most would say that religion has its place and its benevolent accomplishments. That may very well be true.

Few would say that religion has also been a bane in many ways. Most would be afraid of backlash and ridicule from the general public.

 

I am not afraid of those things.

 

Looking at the history of this world, the single leading cause of persecution, torture, war, and death is possibly religion (I say possibly because it’s hard to rank it against the other leading cause; money).

 

There is no bias against or in favor of any one religion over another.

 

Pagans have practiced human sacrifice and engaged in various outrageous rituals.

Christians have historically been the perpetrators of the Crusades, the Inquisition, the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade, the funneling of Nazis through the Vatican, and the mass Colonization of almost every non-European country in the world.

Jews were given land that was inhabited and that directive of the U.N. was forcibly executed. Now, some people would characterize the state of Israel as either squatters or an Apartheid Regime committing human rights violations on Palestinians regularly.

Muslims kill and maim each other based on the lineage of prophets within the same religion. Some become extremists and bring misery and destruction to innocents around the world.

Mormons, among other things, were taught the belief in the curse of Cain which dehumanized and ostracized black people for many years.

Scientologists are just incredibly crazy and worship an insanely damaged Sci Fi writer that literally invented a sect specifically for profit and self aggrandizing.

 

I could go on and on…

It is not accurate to say that religion is completely negative or that all practitioners are bad. That is neither true or fair.

Maybe not in every case, but much too often, religion is simply used as a form of currency that is intended to buy one’s way into the perfect existence that so many privileged people feel they’re entitled to.

 

I know this is not popular in any way!

I also know that anyone that is overly offended by this litany of facts is also not exemplifying one of the supposed basic tenets of religions all over the world; Tolerance.
