THE CRUX OF IT: The belief of far too many that Black people are INHERENTLY sub-human must be admitted first, before attempting to combat it.
Rudy Giuliani called Black Lives Matter “inherently racist” and “anti-American”. He then went on to state that black children have “a 99% chance” of killing each other. “That’s the way they’re gonna die,” he added.
If he “were a black father,” he said, he’d warn his son to “be very careful of those kids in the neighborhood and don’t get involved with them because, son, there’s a 99% chance they’re going to kill you — not the police!”
Former Illinois Tea Party Rep. Joe Walsh had equally reprehensible words to spew.
“3 Dallas Cops killed, 7 wounded,” Walsh posted. “This is now war. Watch out Obama. Watch out black lives matter punks. Real America is coming after you.”
There have been no repercussions at all.
It is officially acceptable to threaten the President of the United States with bodily harm.
CNN law enforcement analyst and former NYPD detective Harry Houck said the rhetoric that the officers involved in the police shooting deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile targeted the men because they were racist “has got to stop, because I’ve got statistics right here which will prove me right.”
“In New York City alone, blacks are 23 percent [of the population],” he said. “They make up 75 percent of all shootings, 70 percent of all robberies, 60 percent of all violent crimes. White only 3 percent. That is why there are more blacks in jail than there are whites.”
CNN commentator and former HuffPost Live host Marc Lamont Hill challenged him saying, “Harry just went on national TV and said black people are prone to criminality.”
“Well, they are.” Houck responded. “The statistics here show this,” Houck fired back, pointing at his sheet of statistics. “What does this say?”
Blinded by this former officer’s ignorance, no one had the opportunity to point out that the stats he was reciting were not only biased but were also irrelevantly referring to offenders – the men in question were VICTIMS.
The overt assertion in each example here is the natural tendency to commit crime.
They are stating their fervent belief in the undeniable fact of genetic inferiority.
The bottom line is this; Too often, people simply believe that black people are LITERALLY a sub-human and separate species. Black people are fundamentally composed of inferior genetics in these people’s eyes- PERIOD.
Until this truth is vocalized and admitted and then refuted vehemently from a standpoint of unapologetic indictment, the work of achieving equality will be an imbalanced effort.
There can be no reasoning or convincing otherwise because to the person with that mindset, arguing the virtues of a “lower life form” is beyond irrational.
The irony comes when a given person is more educated, articulate, accomplished, and more civil ( arguably the very thing that makes someone human) than their accuser, and is still considered to be a lesser being.
