THE CRUX OF IT: They did a job that you would not; respect their service

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Although I consider myself to be a Left-wing Progressive, it would be a mistake to assume that someone that identifies with that ideology cannot also value the modern warriors and the fallen fighters that are and were members of our US Military.

These Airmen, Soldiers, Seamen, and Marines have fought and died for causes and reasons that they fervently believed in. While it is true that some of these soldiers were on the wrong side of history, let’s not engage in division today.

On this Memorial Day, we should choose also not to indulge our own privilege by debating whether or not our government did or did not miss-use these professional fighters at any time.  There are other days for that discourse.

We must simply focus on the gratitude they deserve.
