The President Elect says that the seditious actions of January 6th 2021 by almost exclusively criminal White Americans does NOT represent what this country is. Politicians have said that the storming and damaging of the Nation’s Capitol is “Un-American”!
I call BULLSHIT!
What could be more American than violent, self–possessed, entitled, morally bankrupt, and intellectually devoid and dishonest White men and women attempting to unlawfully exert their will on a population that vastly out numbers their own, for the sole purpose of domination, extortion, and dehumanization.
History has exemplified their purpose repeatedly. These men and women have been biding their time for 150 years and the presence of a willing advocate in the seat of power (and his impending removal) could not be allowed to be a missed opportunity. Being encouraged by the Great Orange Ape, these criminals acted.
Which is truth; that the CAPITOL BUILDING is nothing more than brick and glass and not sacrosanct – or – that the building is wholly representative of the Country’s preeminence and therefore should be protected at all costs and those that attack it should be dealt with with extreme prejudice? But, only if they are not White…
Why are police unquestionably supported by “thin blue line” believers and by those like Kyle Rittenhouse and encouraged to beat back “riotous mobs” of supporters of equality in one moment, and then hatefully attacked by supposedly the same “patriots” the next?
Things were completely acceptable to the insurrectionists when children and their parents were made out to be foreign demons and were being put into cages. The violence stemming from the militaristic police and the armed forces was welcomed when it was directed at brown/black people innocently protesting for their lives and equality or when they were being shot in their backs or when they were being hunted and gunned down or when they were killed sleeping in their own homes.
Police were lauded and celebrated. Politicians deferred and defended in those instances.
So, what’s different now? What has changed?
White men and women have decided that other White men and women have become uncooperative and unacceptable in the pursuit of the cause, and that time was escaping them, and that animus which was previously reserved for non-whites has now turned against its own.
White on White violence…just like it was 160 years ago.
Let’s be clear, just like then, there are plenty of people that are not of the mindset of those insurrectionists. Any given individual can, potentially, be without culpability. There are also more than a few non-white sympathizers to the cause that are due for a jarring awakening from their self-deluded complicity. For example; Bitch McConnell’s wife, Elaine Chao, the Secretary of Transportation, has suggested that she may resign her Cabinet post as a result of the day’s violence. Too late! You were party to its infancy. The Proudboy’s so-called leader considers himself Latino. That is mute because actions define allegiance and identity. In the video above, at least one or two men with brown skin can be seen partaking in the coup attempt. Their tokenism will haunt them in the world they would promote.
The rhetoric that people spew about the overarching goodness of American history is meant to distract from its actual harsh reality so that money can be made and power can be won.
Don’t tell me about the altruistic nature of the country and its people; almost 50 percent of the country’s voters chose the man responsible for so much current division.
No, today’s events could not be more American if they tried.
