This pathway was constructed using solar powered concrete that emanates light. Designed by José Carlos Rubio, a professor at the University of San Nicolas Hidalgo in Mexico.

The cement absorbs energy from the sun during the day and converts that energy into light at night. After a full day under the sun, the material can shine for up to 12 hours. The glow-in-the-dark cement  could be used to illuminate roads, bike lanes and walking paths. The artistic may even design glowing neighborhoods.

This is possibly just the start of the creation of futuristic cities that drastically eliminate needless power drain.

 

 

 

This tech is the precursor to virtual controllers for every purpose imaginable. The next step will possibly be the integration of larger projectors leading to interactive holograms.

 

 

 

Isn’t it highly likely that this concept/ technology has already been utilized on a larger scale somehow? Energy consumption as we know it could be massively minimized if we exhibited the initiative.

 

 

No more wet or dirty clothes? That sounds somehow beneficial. This substance could in theory be modified to be useful on many surfaces.

 

My usual question applies…Can we see the widespread application of these great things or will profit hinder advancement?
