After 13 million dollars in lawsuit settlements and four dozen or more advertisers separating themselves from the channel and the TV personality, the network has parted ways with the host that became a liability.
Now, please allow cynicism / reality to creep in.
This separation is due SOLELY to economics.
Let’s keep this REALLY REAL, this jackass wasn’t fired for anything that he did- he was fired because the truth of it became uncovered and that became a financial disaster.
A forum existed for two decades that allowed him to spout racist and abusive rhetoric belittling freedom fighters, Presidents, people of different ethnicities, and even victims of violence like Treyvon Martin.
NOTHING was done in ANY instance of his degradation of those he targeted. The channel encouraged and profited from his ignorance.
But, as soon as his indiscretions became common knowledge, his fate was sealed.
The ONLY thing that mattered to the channel was the bottom line.
So, while this news does deserve some tiny degree of celebration-the motives for change in this situation were completely dishonorable.
On the bright side though; He now has a clear path to the Presidency…
