THE CRUX OF IT: There is no attempt to hide it anymore.

 

 

On Wednesday Sen. Elizabeth Warren made an attempt to dissent on the nomination of Jeff Sessions to the new White House cabinet. She did so by trying to read from a letter penned by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s widow Coretta Scott King.

She was quickly stopped.

Mitch McConnell cut her off by using a Senate rule that effectively states that no Senator can talk shit about any other Senator- so to speak.

She is now banned from speaking in the Senate to any degree and in any fashion with regards to the conformation hearing.

They not only very effectively silenced Sen. Warren, they also silenced Coretta Scott King.

Apparently the Republicans in the chamber could not control their bias and could not identify the way that a decision like this would appear to thinking people.

If there was even the slightest question about whether or not these people have divisive and racist leanings, then the malicious objection to the recitation of a formal letter by a civil rights icon should put that to rest.
