THE CRUX OF IT: Intentions matter and the purpose is to maintain the status quo.

 

 

 

In the past, black men would be called “boy” and they would be forced to defend themselves by saying  “I am a man.” Invariably, white men would respond saying “Well so am I, I don’t make a thing out of it.”

The next phrase would be, “You never had to.”

 

This brings me to my corresponding point.

 

 

All Lives Matter is reactionary.

It did not exist until an initiating predecessor came into being; BLACK LIVES MATTERS.

The primary purpose of the contrary alternative is to distract and silence.

Black Lives Matter was instituted as a declarative statement as well as a pleading for help and acknowledgment. When there is a wildfire and someone requests or demands assistance in putting it out , those people are not claiming that another area, that is not in actuality burning down at the time, is unimportant. They are quite literally yelling – FIRE!

A so-called “social experiment” was uploaded onto the web recently that sought to prove that there was a distinct bias between black and white citizens and that black people would be inherently violent against someone with an All Lives Matter sign, while whites would not be.

The point was amazingly missed yet again.

To go into an area of mostly people of color and proclaim that all lives matters, isn’t an intelligent or scientific social experimentation at all.

It is a direct antagonization.

To go into an area of white people, being white, and ask if someone supports BLM with the intent of chronicling violence  is also misguided because they will not see that person as a threat at all. Hence, the non-equivalence.

Black Lives Matter was, again, a call for acknowledgement and assistance and to subvert it by trying to overwrite All Lives Matter in its place is to refuse the plea and to deny assistance.

 

If no one had ever come up with the contrary All Lives Matter saying, white Americans would still have a more enviable position in the country by far.

 

If no one had ever come up with Black Lives Matter then there would be no discussion at all.
